Hadiza lied! We never sponsored thugs to harass NPA MD – OMSL

The management of Ocean Marine Solutions Limited (OMSL) has debunked any knowledge or involvement in the physical attack of the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ms. Hadiza Bala Usman, at the National Assembly.

NPA boss Ms. Hadiza Usman petitioned the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan alleging that she was physically attacked by hoodlums at the premises of the National Assembly in Abuja on Tuesday.

She claimed that her attack was sponsored by Chairman of Messrs Ocean Maritime Solutions Limited (OMSL), Captain Wells Okunbo apparently over the decision of the NPA on the Secure Anchorage issue after attending investigative hearing in the Assembly.

She said that she was only saved a bigger assault by her security agents who took her into Senator Danjuma Goje’s office where she waited for the hoodlums to leave.

Reacting to the allegation, Commodore Chuma Adogu (rtd), said the allegation was a falsehood and a figment of imagination, saying the Chairman of OMSL, Captain Wells Okunbo, a fine gentlemen who has served the nation diligently in various capacities, could not have sponsored thugs to attack the NPA boss.

Commodore Adogu (retired) noted that on that Tuesday there was no any sign of such alleged attach or rented crowd in the premises of the National Assembly that could warrant such allegation, maintaining that OMSL Management came to the National Assembly just like other invited organizations on the day of the investigation by the Joint Committee of the Senate investigating the Secure Anchorage Area (SAA).

‘’On the day of the investigation at the National Assembly, we came like other invited organizations and we never came with any thugs or rented crowd to harass anybody talkless the Managing Director of NPA. The security at the premises of the National Assembly was very tight as everybody was routinely checked and controlled while entering thus forestalling any rented crowd or thugs to gain entrance. We came before the panel and presented our position in the SAA without nursing hatred against anyone.

‘’Let me make it clear to the Nigerian public that OMSL is a responsible corporate organization with a lot of Nigerians working as its employees. We are mindful of this and never can we trade it away. I repeat, we do not have hands nor did our Chairman sponsor any group of thugs to attack Ms. Hadiza Bala Usman. We see this as part of the attempts to discredit OMS and distract attention from the main issue which is already with the Senate’’ he submitted.

‘This marks the beginning of the new era: No more war,’ President Salva Kiir says

South Sudan has launched its first electricity grid and power distribution system in the country’s capital Juba with President Salva Kiir Mayardit declaring it a strong sign of peace, unity and development in the world’s youngest nation.

The launch marks the first time the city will actually have an electricity grid as the government and other private institutions had functioned by using their own generators.

President Salva Kiir used the opportunity to
emphasise the end of war in the crisis-ridden nation and declared focus is now squarely on development to deliver services to South Sudan’s citizens.

“To my follow citizens, today marks the beginning of the new era: No more war. This is the time of development and services delivery to people,” Kiir said while commissioning the plant.

“This project marks a major milestone for the Ministry of Energy and Dams and the nation at large. More importantly, it is hoped for us as people that our dreams will not just remain
dreams but will become a reality,” Kiir said.

He said the electricity would eradicate pollution that comes with large scale use of diesel in the environment, and assured the country that the government would equally focus on developing hydroelectric power and the renewable energy sector.

“This project will spur development across all the economic sectors in the country where more than 70% of lighting relies on generators and others on kerosene,” he said.

The Ezra Group from Eritrea invested $289 million in the power plant that will provide 100 megawatts for Juba when completed, the Managing Director, Ghebrengu Ezra, told reporters during the launch

“Ezra group is willing to invest in this project without any guarantee,” he declared.

The Juba City Power distribution system was also constructed with the support of the African Development Bank which provided $38 million, according to Dhieu Mathok, Minister of Energy and Dams.

This historic development comes just weeks after the visit of Nigerian ‘Prophet’ TB Joshua who led public prayers for peace in the Presidential Palace with President Kiir, his whole cabinet and thousands of South Sudanese citizens in attendance.

The United Nations, African Union and US Government are among the bodies echoing Joshua’s call for peace in recent days, calling on South Sudan’s leaders to overlook their differences and ensure a unity a government is formed within the 100-day extension framework.

Friends, Political Associates of Akeredolu’s Cabinet Members Appointed As Sen. Ajayi Borofice’s Aides

Yesterday, a long list of 72 aides was released to the public by the Senate Deputy Majority Leader Distinguished Senator Ajayi Borofice which comprises of friends and close political associates of Akeredolu’s Cabinet members both in Ose, Owo and Akokoland.

By all indications, it shows disloyalty and insincerity on the path of those appointees. It also sends a wrong signal from their Local Government which portends a great danger to the second term ambition of our Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN and to their respective Local Governments in terms of development and government attentions.

For instance, in Ose LGA, about 80% of Sen. Ajayi Borofice’s aides were nominated by Akeredolu’s political appointees underground which has been uncovered through this appointment. In Owo LGAs about 90% were appointed while 100% were appointed in Akoko LGAs

The question is “can you claim to be my friend and still be hobnobing with my enemies?”

It’s either those Akeredolu’s appointees or some leaders of the party at the local government level are planted as moles or agents of disruption within the party.

In the list of those appointees, Akin Akinpelu from Ward 9, Imeri, who until his appointment was the PA to the Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Mr. Dotun Owanikin, was nominated by the Commissioner and appointed as the Special Assistant on Youth Development to Sen. Ajayi Borofice. Similarly Oloyede Ganiyu (a.k.a Pagede), from Ward 10 Idogun ,a close associate to Mr. Olusola Okun, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Political who are claiming to be 100% loyal to Aketi and his second term bid.

Even in the holy bible, God speaks vehemently against mischievous persons; not consistent and straight forward in their dealings.

It is on record that since his inauguration into Akeredolu’s cabinet, the Hon. Comm for Youths and Sports Development Owanikin have not attended any of the Local Government Party meeting. This is not a concocted lies to malign his image, the Local Government Party Chairman Ladi Tenabe can attest to this.

Funny enough, the current Local Government Party Secretary Dele Isibor who is a closest friend to the Local Government Caretaker Chairman Dr. Anthony Modupe was appointed Senior Special Assistant to Sen. Ajayi Borofice.

Sunday Obamadeji, a former Councillorship aspirant from Ward 12 Ute, and a close ally of Sammy Ogundeminigha, who is one of the Leaders and a decampee from AD, was also appointed as Personal Assistant to Sen. Ajayi Borofice.

Kehinde Ojumu who also made the list, appointed as the Personal Assistant on Women Affairs to Sen. Ajayi Borofice .She was nominated byOlayato Aribo being her younger Sister. They all claimed to be loyalists of Akeredolu’s government. Other party members that were claiming to be team-Aketi members were enlisted are lone rangers and not known in Ose politics.

In lieu of this appointment of betrayers, it is now crystal clear for Mr Governor to be mindful of enemies who claimed to be loyal but not, within his cabinet, especially as we approach another electioneering period.

It was a friendly, cool and serene weekend as ardent soccer lovers gathered to keep a date with physical fitness. All garbed in their sport kits and ready to show the good people of Bayelsa the stuffs they are made of as far as football is concerned. One of the great sons of Bayelsa on the field is the governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in the forthcoming November 16th election in the state, Senator Douye Diri. Though, it initially appeared to spectators that the Senator representing Bayelsa Central at the Upper Chamber may just be at the occasion just to acclimatize with his people, only few knew that he would be a major participant of the soccer fiesta. He, indeed made the football showpiece a wonderful and memorable experience for all and sundry.

Acording to one of the participant, he attended the showpiece with his brother to watch the Bayelsa ‘superstars’ displaying their God-given skills and soccer artistries. He is one of the best things to happen to the people of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri was on the other side. The celebrities among others were indeed cynosure of all eyes as the epic football match started. The performances of the two sides brought back an unforgettable memory of past football matches held in the state.

Senator Diri’s side was trailing the other team by 2 goals to 3. This development brought a heavy sad look on the faces of those in support of the Senator’s side.

Despite being led by the one goal margin, the Senator Diri’s team kept playing as if they were the ones leading, not allowing the strikers of the opposing team to add more to the goal tally. And within a twinkle of an eye, as the match was about to come to an end, even when the supporters of the Senateor’s team almost gave up hope on any equalizer, the in-coming governor stroke brilliantly and he leveled up scores to bring back smiles on the faces of Diri’s supporters. It ended 3 apiece and Senator Diri’s goal was adjudged the golden goal of the match. This is simply a signal to the unique administrative abilities and skills Senator Diri will bring into the affairs of Bayelsa State, given the mandate on November 16th, 2019.

There is no doubting the fact that Senator Douye Diri will put the development of sports and youths in Bayelsa State on the front burner as the number one citizen of the oil rich state and he is ever ready to put smiles on the faces of the youths. As a patriotic Nigerian and a man who knows the importance of the youths in any sane society, Senator Diri would not leave any stone unturned in including the youths in his government, giving them the benefit of being stakeholders in the affairs of the state. He knows quite well also that the youths are very energetic and ready to tap on a necessary opportunity and this has paved way for the Nigerian youths in engaging in several anti-societal behaviours and crimes to the detriment of their images. Senator Diri believes vividly that if an avenue like sport could be well tapped into, the sky will only be the limit in youth emancipation, rehabilitation and reorientation. According to him, he will embark on massive employment of the youths and also not leaving out the elders who are also potent members of the communities all across Bayelsa State. The philanthropist of note also plans to bring on board several sports stars of Bayelsa origin who have made huge names for the country both locally and internationally. Cutting across football, swimming, boxing, athletics, wrestling and many other sporting activities, Senator Diri will, no doubt deliver Bayelsa sports to the highest peak.

He is indeed a man of his words and it will be very justifiable to vote such a man of passion and willingness into seeing to the affairs of Bayelsa State, a state that has been deprived of its rightful dividends of democracy for many years regardless of the fact that the state has produced one of the duly elected civilian presidents of Nigeria. A feat only a few states could boast of.

It is left for the people of Bayelsa State, most especially the youths to cast their votes for the man that will breathe a new life into sports development which is one of the most vital tools of their young minds and ensure their sporting careers and future.

While speaking to some residents of the neighbourhood where the football match was played, some are of the view that Senator Douye Diri was only using that as an opportunity to win the hearts of the people of Bayelsa State in order for them to cast their votes for him but many debunked that criticism saying that Senator Diri is never a man who hides his feelings and he would not stoop so low to deceive anybody just because he wants to be governor of Bayelsa State. He has been doing this sort for things for years while serving in all the offices in found himself up till today as a Senator. More than 90 percentage of people in his locality vouched for his open-mindedness, caring and undented spirit of brotherhood. He is a man who wants  people around him regardless of class and caliber. He never looked down on anyone and ensures that he maintains cordial and mutual relationships with everybody he comes across. He loves football and his passion for the game is not only in watching it, but practicing it physically on the pitch whenever the opportunity arises.

His coming in as the 5th civilian governor of Bayelsa State will surely bring a new dimension for sports in the state thereby improving tourism, hospitality and business in general. This is a state that has been yearning for the return to action of all sporting activities so as to enable the young talents in the state discover to the outside world for international recognition, accolades and laurels just like the likes of Samson Siasia, Daniel Igali, etc who are all Bayelsans that took the great name of Nigeria to global sporting perspectives.

Fasoranti’s Daughter: A DAGGER TO OUR HEARTS!

The daylight assassination of Mrs. Olufunke Olakunrin, daughter of our revered father and Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, is a dagger to our hearts and an audacious insult to our collective humanity.

I have searched for days to find words most suitable to console Papa Fasoranti, my brothers, Taiwo and Kehinde Fasoranti, plus the immediate family as well as the larger Yoruba race and indeed all well meaning Nigerians. We can only pray that Almighty God shall comfort Papa Reuben Fasoranti with his family and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

This dastardly and gruesome murder of a mother at a time when she should begin to enjoy the joy of motherhood is a sordid reminder of how so lowly we have degenerated from the dizzying height of a peace-loving, fun-seeking accommodating people.

Olufunke’s death is a clarion call for all Nigerians to immediately begin the search for our return to the values that once made our country the envy of others.

It is a time to assist the Security Agencies to smoke out the evil blood sucking demons from our land and declare in one voice; enough is enough. The perpetrators of this despicable act must be instantly brought to justice.

We must now re-establish our fast fading nature as a peaceful and accommodating people whose love for one another transcend ephemeral divisions of religion and ethnicity.

Olufunke Fasoranti Olakunrin must not be allowed to die in vain.

Sadly, the Appeal Court has sacked Regina Daniels hubby, Ned Nwoko as Senator.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on May 11, 2019, withdrew the Certificate of Return it issued to the chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) and senator representing Delta North senatorial district of Delta state, Peter Nwaoboshi.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reversed the April 3, 2019 judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja which sacked Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Delta North Senatorial seat.

Justice Mohammed Idris, in the lead judgment, held that the suit by Nwoko was statute barred and that Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja ought not to have heard the case and gave the judgment he gave in favor of Nwoko.

The three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, in a unanimous judgment on Thursday, held that the Federal High Court had no jurisdiction to have heard the case filed by Ned Nwoko.

Justice Mohammed had, in the April 3, 209 judgment, sacked Nwaoboshi as the PDP candidate for the last election in Delta North Senatorial district and among others, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to accept Nwoko as the party’s candidate.

Emir Sanusi: His Three Options And Karma.

Emir Sanusi: His Three Options And Karma.

In case you don’t know, these are the three options before Emir Sanusi.

  • To Resign Voluntarily As Emir
  • To Be Unceremonially Removed (Deposed)
  • To Have His Kingdom splitted into Five Emirates.

When Sanusi sensed trouble coming his way, he sent Alhaji Aliko Dangote (According To Daily Trust Report) to beg the governor on his behalf, the governor then told Dangote to tell Emir Sanusi of his three options stated above.

On the Karma side, during the count down to the 2015 election, Sanusi wrote a memo to the then President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to raise an alarm over some “imaginary” missing funds, he quoted at first $49b, later, we saw the figure as $10b and finally Sanusi settled for $20b as the missing money, in his usual character, the secret memo found its way to the press, Sanusi leaked the letter by himself, this created huge controversy for Jonathan’s government.

Tongues were wagging, insult upon injury, the then oppositions party APC quickly aligned with Sanusi, in fact, they became his mouthpiece, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the then APC National Publicity Secretary was always dishing out information and figures, as if they were being prepared by Sanusi himself, the co-ordination was superb.

In Sanusi’s banking reform, CEOs were not left out, initially, according to gist then, he wanted to come for Tony Elumelu who sacked him from UBA due to his high level of indiscipline and insubordination, Tony a smart guy escaped, and quickly appointed another CEO for UBA PLC who was still under HIERS holding under his control, he went for other CEOs, Mrs Cecilia Ibru’s recent testimony is an indication of the numerous clamp down against bankers not in his good book.

In the case of the defunct Bank PHB, there were interests to install a Northern as the MD of the bank, Mr Francis Atuche embarked on a short vacation abroad, after a stress test was conducted on the bank and scaled through, all of a sudden Sanusi sent his team to Bank PHB again, they were able to get an internal accomplice who they connived with to give another report that the bank was in distress.

Fast forward, Sanusi was able to forcefully send CEO of Bank PHB, Oceanic, Intercontinental and others away with media trial, of course, Nigerians are lovers of mob actions, once media say you are a thief or a criminal, everyone takes it hook line and sinker and it becomes a tag.

Jonathan was so unlucky with Sanusi because his accomplice in APC were threatening fire and brimstone if Jonathan dared to sack him, it became a big issue across the country for GEJ to handle, once you are called a thief, it’s hard to defend yourself that you are not, especially when you are in power.

For the APC government, they knew the dirty part Sanusi played when they were coming to power, and they are in power now and not ready to leave soon.

For those who have read “48 Laws of Power”

One part says, don’t offend the wrong guy, while another says Crush your enemies totally.

Sanusi is now an enemy who has offended the wrong guy (APC Ganduje), the wrong guy he offended is not unaware of the damage Sanusi can do, as he had done in their favour(APC) in the past, so, it’s time to totally crush him.

Three options has been laid before him, his ego didn’t allow him to pick any of them as reported back to him by Alhaji Dangote he sent to beg the governor but they are now helping him to take the options.

Sanusi’s powers has been shared with other four people, from the rumor in town, Kano State Government will eventually transfer him away from his current emirate to another, his resistance will put a final nail on his coffin with SACK. It’s not ending there, he will be dragged before court to answer for some allegations bothering on illegal spending and corruption as Emir, recent report also indicated that his tenure as CBN governor will be probed.

So, KARMA is very real and fast?….
Let’s see how this case will end.
